Sen. Cayetano offended by Sen. Trillianes for citing him “Out Of Order” Senator Cayetano got offended after Sen. Trillianes cited him “out of order” for asking questions during the hearing on alleged extrajudicial killings in the country even he is not a member of the committee. Cayetano had been questioning witness Edgar Motabato when Trillanes called the attention of the Justice and Human Rights Committee chairperson Sen. Leila De Lima. “I would just like to inquire if there is unli-questioning allotted for a non-member of the committee,” Trillanes said to the committee chair.
Trillanes insisted he wants him declared out of order, even Cayetano tried to explain his side. The heated exchange of words between Trillanes and Cayetano promted De Lima to declare a two minute break to make them calm. But during the break, the two Senators continued their argument. Trillanes was heard telling Cayetano, “Hindi kita papopormahin,” Cayetano replied, “Senador ako, binoto ako ng tao dito, di ba?” De Lima then stood between the two and urged them to stay calm and don’t argue in front of many people. “Ang problema sasabihan niya ako sa mukha na hindi niya ako papopormahin dito, elected ako ng tao. Wala namang bastusan.” Cayetano told De Lima: Senator Trillanes also tries to turn off Cayetano’s microphone. Cayetano also claimed that he was being “threatened” and “trashtalked” by Trillanes who was seated to his right.
